Together, we can sponsor

A child

Sponsor a Child today.

One of the most important ways an individual can make a lifelong difference to a child in our programs is through child sponsorship. By sponsoring a child, your gifts of financial and prayer support will directly help transform the life of a child.

The Encourage Youth Ministry sponsorship program provides critical financial and prayer support for children served by our partner ministries.  The funding provides for different needs based on the ministry site and includes, but is not limited to support for food, clothing, medical and educational needs, as well as support for the ministry to provide better care for the children.  Sponsorship also provides the sponsor with a personal relationship and connection with their child to help them know they are loved, prayed for and that they have hope in a heavenly Father.

Sponsorship for a child is $25 a month. They are so thankful to be loved and prayed for by more than one sponsor!

As a sponsor, you will receive:

  • A photo and information about your sponsored child.
  • The opportunity to have a personal relationship with your child by writing and receiving letters.
  • Annual progress reports with updated photos of your child.

Write your child. You can send your letter and attached photos to encourageyouth.ministries@gmail Once we receive your letter, it is sent to the appropriate address where it is translated and then delivered to your child. Letters are a great way to encourage your sponsored child and let them know that someone cares about them. Tell them about yourself, your family and ask about their lives. Please do not make promises to your child.

Pray for your child. Use the photo and information about your child as a reminder to pray for them.
Commit to support your child for one full year. Each of our sponsors commits to a $36/month sponsorship that provides for the daily needs of your sponsored child.

Your gift will be sent directly to the project to help with the costs associated with that child. Actual details of what your sponsorship covers can vary from project to project—from monthly tuition to food and clothing. All projects include Christian discipleship of the children.

To get started, choose the gender of the child you would like to sponsor from the sponsorship album. All available children will be listed and you can select the child you would like to begin sponsoring

Derrick’s starting a Chicken Project locally to empower his local community. Please support him and cheer him on and give him well wishes! We hope to study methods from masters such as Joel Salatin and Geoff Lawton to implement this project.

Hello readers of Wellhead Way Organisation in Association with Zen Farming.

I'm called Derrick Pare from Western Uganda am being inspired by Geoff Lawton's work, “You can solve all the world's problems in a garden. Nature demands a gift for everything that it gives, so what we have to keep doing, is returning …

back to the soil, then we're continuously giving the gifts to nature, because we have a return cycle.”

And Also my Partner Sean Dillon

We are planing to Make Chicken Project for Layers. Layers are chicken that you raise for eggs. Through your support and assistance we can make this.

Please Donate and share.

Love and Peace.

We humbly greet you in the name of our living God who has also enabled us to share his work spiritually. We are all born with a purpose and The Lord God Wants the best for us. Let's all put our arms together and give help, prayers, and support.

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, who correctly handles the word of truth" ( 2 Timothy 2:15 )

We are located in Western Uganda in Kitoro Trading Center, Kitoro Town Council and based on our mission in this location. The ministry is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO), Registered Community Based Organisation in Kitoro Uganda. It is a newly started Ministry registered on October 26th, 2018. The organization's objective is to restore hope to the hopeless and give help to the desperate such as orphans, widows, disadvantaged youths, elders and vulnerable people. We believed we are able to build a sustainable community and defeat poverty in a large number of families in Western Uganda.

The organization's objective is to restore hope to the hopeless and give help to the desperate such as orphans, widows, disadvantaged youths, elders and vulnerable citizens.  The implementers of the organization are Derrick Pare and Aine Ronald who received a common inspiration and idea for the project and decided to start something which can benefit and transform many souls both spiritually and financially. The above-mentioned implementers are being supported by Paul Kemp. This Enrolls 30 individuals of which 16 children who are orphans (7 to 18 years), 10 are youth (16 to 20), 2 are widows and 2 are Elders (grandfather and grandmother). (See our Document)

When we talk about orphan's these are a group of people who lost one of the parents or both or the whole family. As a ministry, we have decided to take care of them through your support, help, and prayers toward them. These kids really are in need of your support. Some of them don't have any parents and are living with their grandmother and others have only one parent. They need to go to school to become important people in the future and to help their young brothers and sisters and also the community. We have children who are taken care of by there mothers but don't have basic needs to care about them like clothes, shelter, food, water, soap, paraffin for lighting at night. All the children are in primary level except two boys who are in secondary. These children depend on us for food, shelter, water, clothes, medical care, and education among others needs. We believe that if we come up to this young generation and give support to them it will both help them to be in the position of accessing basic needs, health services and become important people in future. They will be basically dependent on donations to live.

Education These children will be getting their school fees from the well-wishers. The children move 2 ½ kilometers every morning to reach the nearby school. The quality of education that they get from this school basically is low quality. On matters concerning academics, the teachers at this school are ever on pressure due to their certification with the government which limits their work done in class which leads children who perform very poorly.

Health In the area.  There is only one health center called Mwanza Health Center which is about 3 kilometers away from the area. Spirituality, the knowledge of God and His Son Jesus Christ is very low. There is only one Church within the area and the others are 3 ½ kilometers. We move about 1 ½ kilometer to reach the nearby Church for prayers. We decided to involve the YOUTH in order that they can be saved through sharing the Gospel of our Lord Savior JESUS CHRIST.

Water. The area does not have any source of water like Community a well or developed water tanks for drinking. We only get water from the wells which are not clean for drinking.

1.Spreading the gospel and evangelism

2. Providing school fees.

3. Providing basic needs to the widows, and elders like clothes, food, soap, salt, fuel for cooking and other necessities of living.

4. Providing school materials like books, pens, pencils, school uniforms (i.e Trouser for boys, Skirts for girls, shirts, and shoes for both).

5. Caring for the needy children and vulnerable ones.

6. Equipping skills to the needy and vulnerable children and the community.

7. Equipping the children with relevant skills and establishing income-generating projects.

8. Providing the children basic needs like food, accommodation, shelter, clothes among other necessities.

1.Construction of new PIGGERY PROJECT for the youth as their source of income which will also inspire other youth in the community. (The youth are mainly guided and taught how to be transformed into an important person). PIGGERY; Refers to the rearing of pigs. The project may differ in terms of income depending on one’s capital invested in the project, (the more capital invested the more output generated) the projects output may take very little time compared to other projects as in rearing animals because the gestation period of a pig is much shorter compared to a cow or a goat. Secondly, pigs grow faster and their lactation period is also short that is why I chose the piggery project. This is our responsibility to lead these children in a way that will help them to be self-reliant in the future and there they will be able to care for their own families in the old stages.

1. The youth face a challenge of the long distance covered for mission outreach due to lack of transport when going for gospel outreach in the nearby areas.

2. The caretakers of the children face a problem of land shortages where they could practice Agriculture.

3. The children move 2 ½ kilometers to reach the nearby school which doesn’t provide quality education to them. 4.Limited land for Agriculture.

1. We plan to practice agriculture on a large scale such that we can get some food from our own Land to reduce the high price of food products.

2. We also plan if we get sufficient funding to buy food for the caretakers of the children which can be used in the periods of food scarcity.

3. We also plan to set up a piggery project for the youth such that they can make their own source of income in a community. And also rabbit rearing projects for the children such that our children can be able to help their families in providing home requirements. We require your support, help, prayers, and the guidance of God to turn our dreams into actuals.

The Concern:

A Lack Of World Peace. We need an Emphasis on Climate Justice Peacebuilding.

Limited job training opportunities and lack of resources for business start-ups have been major barriers to youth, women and men moving forward in their lives and educating and feeding their children. Low job skills and lack of capacity to make a living also impact public health in serious ways. Mental health and physical health are intrinsically linked.

Current Economic Self-Sufficiency Program

Economic Self-Sufficiency Programs address training and support of business start-ups for both Youth and Women with a special focus on women, who have less opportunity and greater obstacles to overcome.

Piggery Project

1.Secure A Breeding Ground

Depending on how you plan to feed your pigs, a plot of land may just be okay for small scale starting but if you can acquire a large farm land (from 5 acres) that will be better so that your pig can graze in the open and retire to the pen where they’d continue feeding and playing. Land is your biggest investment in this business. Once you have it, you’re half way done.

Look for land in a rural area where you can get it cheaper. 1acre of land in a rural area will be from UG$200,000 x how many you want. Do your stuffs there and transport your goods to the town. Some butcher will even be coming to your farm to buy, saving you cost of transportation.

It is good to raise pigs in pasture by leaving them occasionally to root around in the fields where they can find plants to eat, and that can only be achieved when you have large enough farm land (Pasture Ground) to cater for this. As they mature, you take care so that they do not wander away.

2. Build Standard Pens

Big pen is important if you don’t want your pigs to injure themselves. A good and specious pen is also important to keep the pigs healthy and free from diseases and contamination. Proper drainage is needed too to avoid water becoming stagnant in your pen which could attract insects and other harmful pets to harm your pigs.

To avoid your pigs getting overly dirty, you need to build a water pool where they can play, swim as pigs likes swimming, and cool themselves which is important to their well being. Changing the water and refilling the pool as frequently as possible will ensure that they are clean all the time. If you are keeping them outdoor, shelter should be build for them.

3. Buy Healthy Piglets

To ensure healthy farm, you need to make sure the piglets you are about to start your farm with are health. Buy from trusted source and make sure the ones you are buying has history of vaccination.

Pig Farming

Standard Pig Pen for Big Farmers

Buy as much as you wants to start with but don’t start with too many. It is advisable to start with small number and increase gradually. This way, you will be able to learn the rope and you grow and anything go wrong at the initial stage, your risk will be minimal.

Talk To Veterinary Doctor – You need the services of vet doctors for regular check up and vaccination as well as feeding and nutrition advice. Pigs generally eats what human being eat and doe not present much worries when it comes to feed.

4. Employ Workers

Employ 4 – 5 persons if your pigs are up to 100. If  you are starting on a smaller scale, you may need lesser number of worker 1 – 2 workers who will be assisting in the cleaning of the pigs and the pens, feeding the pigs and making sure they are well behaved and other things necessary.

5. Feeding Is Important For Pig Farming

Just like human being,  Pigs eat a wide variety of foods, anything human can eat, they can eat. Like human being as well, they need balanced diet such as fibre, energy, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals to thrive. Feed will take the major chunk of your spending in the farm.

Pigs, like all animals, must have constant access to clean fresh drinking water. As well as tipping the trough to make a wallow, pigs will also stand in the water trough and wash their dirty faces in it, so it needs to be checked regularly, cleaned out and refilled. Galvanised troughs are robust and easy to clean, and not too easy for the pigs to tip over.  Automatic drinkers are available but aren’t half as much fun for the pigs

Put all these in place and you are as good as having started your business.  There is nothing a good as being in business you are sure of profit; Pig farming is one of such business. All you need to do is to feed and take care of them. Do that proper and watch them multiply in three fold.

Poultry Keeping.

Have Your Investment Ready

Poultry farming requires investment. You can arrange the money by your own or you can apply for bank loan. Both govt. and non-govt. bank loans are available for starting poultry farming business. You should contact your desired bank for the loan process. As a beginner, you should start with a minimum number of birds which will cost you pretty less money.

Production Type

First of all determine the production type of your poultry farm. You can raise broiler chickens for meat production purpose and choose layers if you want to produce eggs commercially. You can also start your poultry farm for selling poultry products and breeding stocks directly to your local customers. Determine your production purpose, select proper poultry breeds according to your desired production and go for the detailed planning.

Set Farm Location

Selecting a good farm location for your business is very important. You should select such a location which has all required facilities and favorable for your business. It can be slightly far from the town, where land and labor is pretty cheap. But don’t setup the farm too far from the town. Because most of the towns have high density population, and you have to target that market. Also try to avoid setting up the farm in residential areas, because poultry farms produce offensive odor. While selecting the farm location, consider transportation system and medication facilities also.

Construct House

After selecting farm location, construct a good house for your birds. Ensure all required facilities are available in the new house. There are three types of poultry housing system you can use. Extensive, semi intensive and intensive. For commercial production, intensive system is most convenient. You can raise your birds in floor or in cage system. On an average, broiler poultry needs about 2.5 square feet space and layer poultry needs about 4 square feet space. For example, if you want to raise 200 layers then you have to ensure about 800 square feet space is available. About 4 square feet space is required per bird in cage system. Don’t forget to add proper lighting and ventilation system in the house.

Purchase Required Equipment

You need to purchase some equipment for your poultry farm. List of required equipment are listed below for running a poultry farm successfully.

  • Feeders
  • Waterers
  • Nests
  • Cages
  • Coops
  • Crates
  • Incubator
  • Egg tray
  • Lighting instruments
  • Perches
  • Brooders or heaters
  • Ventilation system
  • Waste disposal system

Labor or Manpower

Based on the number of birds, you need more or less manpower/labor. As a beginner, if you start with a minimum number of birds (200-500) then you can manage your farm by yourself easily. If you plan for raising more birds then you will need additional manpower. Ensure cheap labor is available in your selected area.

Purchasing Chicks

After setting everything up and having everything ready, purchase quality chicks from trusted breeder in your area and start caring them. Set the brooder ready before arriving the chicks from breeding house to your farm. As a beginner, it is wise to start with day old chicks instead of older chicks. If you are a complete beginner without any prior experience, keep the number of chicks to minimum (anyhow not more than 500).

Feeding is the most important part of poultry farming business. After constructing house and purchasing equipment and chicks, you have to spend a large amount of money for feeding your birds. About 70% of your total project expenses will go towards the feeding. And the success in the business also depends on quality and adequate feeding. You can purchase the feed ingredients from the market and prepare the feed by yourself or purchase ready-made poultry feeds from the market. Different types of commercial poultry feeds are available in the market for each type of birds. Please review the following webpages for more details about poultry feeding.

Health Management

As we have mentioned above, you have to ensure proper medication system in your area. Poultry birds are prone to various types of diseases and you have to be ready for controlling them. We know ‘prevention is better than cure’, so you have to be conscious and take proper care of your birds to keep them safe. Vaccinate them timely and always try to provide them fresh water and food. Also stock some required vaccine and medicine so that you can use them when needed.

Good marketing strategies influence the profit from your business. If you can sell your products in the market easily, then it will encourage you in getting more production. We always recommend determining marketing facilities in your area before starting any farming business. Because your business will not be much profitable if you can’t market your products properly.

Hope this poultry farming for beginners guide will help you to plan for your new business. Before starting, try to learn more about the business and visit some farms if possible. Consult with other farmers in your area and start with a minimum number of birds for the first time. Gather experience and gradually expand your farm.
